Christmas Home Tour

Thrifty and Chic

I love decorating for Christmas, I'm just sad that it only lasts for a month. So much goes into it compared to decorating for other holidays. Wish it could last for half a year :). For my decor this year, I decided to keep my theme simple with whites and silvers with a small mixture of red.
Here's our entryway. I swagged the garland along the stair rail. I added a wreath in between the garland where it met the rail on top.
For our front room, I wanted to give it a feel of a wintery lodge by bringing in lots of whites and texture.
Even though I love our giant tree in our living room, this is by far my favorite tree. It just looks like something I cut down out of our backyard ...gives it somewhat of a Charlie Brown feel.
Here's our 10 foot tree in our living room.
I added letters to it as ornaments spelling out "Merry Christmas". The main decor that makes up the tree are silver and white ornaments, poinsettias, and beaded garland.
I tried to keep it simple for the mantle this year. I found these wonderful lanterns on clearance at Home Depot. For the wreath, it looked a bit small for the space; adding the empty frame behind it solved that problem easily.
Here's the dining room. I added a small wreath to the sunburst mirror and other small touches to the console table.
For the tablescape, I used mason jars and filled them with salt and added tea lights. These sit in between garland on top of a cedar planks painted white. I think it gives it a rustic yet glamorous look.
I decided to go with something different and hang some scented pine cones from the chandelier. These smell wonderful when you're waiting for your dinner :)
And for the guest bathroom, I just finished this project so I couldn't help but add a little bit of Christmas decor to it also :)
