Strategies for Garage Door Opener Installation

Is your garage door opener dying?
You can totally replace your garage door opener in one day without a ton of tools.
The first step is to remove the old opener. Place a ladder below the motor and support it with extra boxes or wood.
Take a picture of the wiring setup then loosen all the bolts on the support brackets. Lower the motor to the ground then remove the clevis pin that holds the rail to the bracket above the garage door.
I chose a Chamberlain garage door opener because it gets 4 to 5 star reviews from other DIYers. Plus, the belt drive is super quiet (nice for early morning commuters).
I'll show you how easy it is to install the Chamberlain. This project will probably take 3-5 hours depending on your setup but I'm confident you can do it.
