Christmas Craft: DIY Snowflake Sign

After being inspired by this cute (but somewhat costly) sign at Marshalls, I decided to make my own version!
I started by using this old framed mirror I had lying around.
I didn't want to keep the hooks, so I filled the holes with spackle. (Wood filler would also do the job.)
After the spackle was dry, I lightly sanded the frame and then sprayed on 2-3 quick coats of red spray paint.
In the meantime, I had covered the mirror, which was removable, in a brown paper bag and then burlap and reinserted it into the frame after the paint dried.
Then I simply used a snowflake stencil and white paint I had on hand to create this design. And that's it! To see more Christmas crafts -- including Origami stars and no sew throw pillows -- head over to my blog.
