Looking For An Inexpensive Flooring Option?

When we moved into our 1918 farmhouse we had a lot of original "vintage" carpet. We needed an inexpensive option to replace the carpet....yet still keep the farmhouse charm. So we ripped ...»
up the carpet and painted the plywood sub-floor.

Really.

We just painted the floor and never looked back. It has held up for over two years now and still looks like it did when we painted it!

And we can send all our children to college. :)

Headed for the dumpster - gasp!

I must admit, one year ago I would have walked right past this without batting an eyelash. After seeing the amazing projects you all do, this looks like a treasure sitting among trash bags. I just wish I had a truck. I'm going to talk to the Hometalk development team about building in a furniture alert system for spotting discarded furniture :) That way you can subscribe to be on the list and receive an alert when junk is spotted in your area. LOL.
