Pottery Barn Knockoff Noel Sign

Making this sign was quick, easy and thrifty! I wanted to create an aged metal-looking finish and also mimic the look of Pottery Barn's pricey Noel sign.
Here's a look at the final result.
I started with these MDF letters from Hobby Lobby. They were $3.50 apiece and I paid even less with a 40-percent-off coupon.
I primed them all with a black spray primer.
I used three different metallic paints from Modern Masters to create the aged metal look I was going for: Pewter, Copper Penny and Black Pearl.
I used Copper Penny as the base coat because it has an opaque finish, offering fuller coverage.
After that dried, I sponged on a coat of Pewter in random spots. Then I used the same technique to dab on two more coats, one of Black Pearl and one of a mixture of Black Pearl and Copper Penny.
Finally, I turned the dried letters over and stuck on a few Command™ Strips to hang them on the wall. I’m not a big fan of punching holes in my walls, especially for seasonal decor.
