would really love some suggestions for making our fenceless courtyard to be an inviting place to hang out with an evening glass of wine or a morning cup of coffee.

Please post a pic so that it's easier to visualize the space you are working with.

@Leslie F - it would be easier to make suggestions if you post some pics from various angles - inside going out and all sides of where you want the courtyard to go - there are so many many ideas, and we all love to express our creative side to provide ideas! Thanks for posting - I love this kind of challenge :)

Definitely do post photos and we'll get our creative wheels turning. If you are trying to achieve some privacy, you could definitely do that with plants in containers.

unable to post pictures at this time, there is a travel trailer right next to our space and we have a long patio right before you enter our 10' by 12' courtyard and in front of our courtyard is our parking space if that helps with visualizing how our courtyard is set up.

If you give an address we all can look up pics on Google Earth if that would be easier. (just a suggestion)

If you're looking for inspiration you'll find lots of ideas if you click on the "Outdoor Living" topic on the left of the screen.

@Leslie F - Douglas is right - lots of inspiration right here. If you want suggestions perhaps indicate what you are looking for in your courtyard, privacy, interest, intimacy, country charm etc. I understand not wanting to provide an address, but even pics that might have something you don't want to be considered could help with the creativity. Good luck and would love to see pics of what you do.

We've always used potted Arborvitae as a quick and inexpensive way to add "instant" privacy. I've even seen people put them in rolling planters so they can be moved around as needed! :-)
