How do I remove ink streaks from inside my dryer?

Yes, sad to say, I missed a pen when checking pockets and it ended up coming apart in the dryer. It did ruin several pieces of clothing, which I am trying to get out with hair spray (some success) and rubbing alcohol (no success). The ink also transferred to the inside of the dryer drum and looks like hideous long streaks of blue. HELP!!

You might want to try scrubbing the spot with ajax (or some other abrasive powder cleaner). There are some other helpful tips here: http://www.wikihow.com/Clean-Crayon-out-of-a-Dryer (although post is about crayons, I think the idea might be similar).

Hairspray or rubbing alcohol should do the job. When stain is gone, clean with a white cloth and clear water, to make sure nothing is left to stain clothes you put in.

I ended up having to use Soft Scrub! Alcohol and hairspray would not touch it! There is still a slight stain in places, but I will try Soft Scrub again. Thanks for the help!

That is good to know! I know I have used the alcohol on Cassette Cases to get the permanent ink writers ink off...glad you found a product to use!! I have had that happen before and it makes such a mess inside.

Barkeeper's Friend (a softer abrasive than Ajax or Comet) worked wonders on mine. I then sprayed an old towel with hairspray and tossed in the dryer on Fluff setting (no heat) to get out whatever I missed.

Nail Polish Remover works very fast on ink inside a dryer and it is not abrasive. You really do not want to use anything abrasive in your dryer as you will ruin the finish. Just make sure you rinse it off and let dry.
