Tiles made out of beat-up old skateboards

I just found out about these tiles made of recycled skateboards. If you're looking for really unique tiles, this is the company:

Also, if you have an old, broken board, you can recycle them here:

Though my skating days are long behind me, I have always admired skateboard art, and sometimes go to skate or snowboard shops just to see the artwork on the decks, so this is a perfect way to preserve that fine art.

There's a lot of overlap. There is a great documentary called "Dogtown and the Z-Boys" about the skate culture that surfers developed in SoCal.

Well that makes sense Steve since skate boarding is sort of "dry" surfing. Thanks.

Exactly. And us landlocked surfers can skate on the plains out here.

Thanks for the link Steve! I sent it to my son who use to "ride the rail" and built ramps, etc. Thought this might just be up his alley.

what a cool way to recycle, save art, and resurface a backsplash. Colorful and decidedly not boring. Thanks Steve!
