DIY Tea Box From The Dollar Store Using Mod Podge

It's pretty amazing what you can do to a cheap dollar store box with a little paint and some graphics and mod podge!
Recently, my sister started drinking tea. So normally, when it came time to think of a gift for her at Christmas, I immediately knew a tea box would be perfect!

I bought this plain wooden box at the dollar store.
I painted it in Old Coco first from Annie Sloan's line of chalk paints. I then painted over that with Old White chalk paint. I then distressed it to reveal the Old Coco underneath it and to give it a shabby vintage look.
I transferred the tea graphic on to it using the reverse mod podge transfer method. Needless to say, she loved it and now i want one too! Please visit my blog for more!

Hi Mary, I tried to go to your website but it is no longer there, do you have another website with your creations on?

    Kind regards

    Heather

This is really nice. I'm so frustrated looking at cheaply made ones on Amazon I thought I should make one myself. But where I live we only have Dollar Tree which doesn't carry anything like this. If you happen to see this, can you let me know what type of store might have the boxes? (Your link to your blog no longer works).
