Can I DIY undercabinet lighting in a house built in 2002?

I would like to know if I can DIY undercabinet lighting in our kitchen. We have only 3 or 4 spots that need lights. I'd prefer LED based upon coolness factor and I'd like it all on one switch. The upper cabinets go all the way to the ceiling and there is a lip on the bottom of the cabinets to hide the lights.
We live in the Boston area so outside walls are insulated.
Is this a project that I could tackle myself? If not, can someone recommend a reasonable price for the project?

I guess I'm having a hard time figuring out how I can snake wires through the outside facing walls. There is insulation with plastic over it and I don't think I want to puncture the plastic. And how do I get it to one switch?

You certainly should be able too with minimal cord showing. There are kits that will plug into a wall outlet and you can connect multiple lights together, but you will need to drill through the cabinets.

I think Kim is on to something. If you don't mind a wall plug and lamp-type switch, this should be really doable and look good.
