How to Remove Mold From a Window Sill

There's nothing more to say about mold than it really sucks. It's like everything you do for your family to keep them safe and all of a sudden you come across mold living in your daughter's window sill behind the curtain in the dead of winter. It's not even time to Spring clean, yet on December 28th that's what I'm doing. Check it out below:
To combat this nastiness..grab laundry detergent, water, a large bowl, and a big scrub brush. I did about 6 squirts from my Tide laundry detergent and grabbed a brand new scrub brush. I really think the key here is to use a brand new scrub brush, you don't want any used particles from yesterday and all of a sudden have the mold return tomorrow.

Check out the after picture:
Remember to open a window and be extremely careful when dealing with mold.
Nothing could prepare me for this. The definition of mold according to Wikipedia:

A mold (US) or mould (UK / NZ / AU / ZA / CA) is a fungus that grows in the form of multicellular filaments called hyphae.[1][2] In contrast, fungi that can adopt a single celled growth habit are called yeasts.
