Bedroom door solutions

I live in a mobile home and took the bedroom door off for more wall space in my bedroom. I do need something in the doorway, not just for some privacy, but to separate the room from the rest of the house. Anyway, anyone have any ideas?

I use a spring rod and a curtain in my doorway so I have a little provacy and my pets can come and go as they please.

Can you make It into a pocket door ?

Yes, I agree with Nancy; a spring tension rod with choice of curtain whether it be lace, sheer or heavier material curtain. Tie back with ribbon, piece of lace or install a curtain "drape" holder offset to just on the outside edge of the woodwork on the wall. Hope it helps!

@Cammy Fay the curtain sounds like the best idea. You can usually get some economical curtains, so that you can purchase two sets to hang back to back - more privacy and a wee bit more sound proofing. This would allow for versatility on how to hold them back if you want to. While a pocket door would also work it could be costly and labor intensive. I guess another solution is to hang some beaded type curtains, but the privacy would be minimal.

I love the idea of the rod and curtains. I laughed at the beads, not at the suggestion, just the idea at how long that would last with my 2 cats! I live in a mobile home as well. Sure would like to see more decorating ideas with that in mind. You might try long shutters or swinging doors. Good luck.
