Pulling wall color from St. Cecelia granite

by Luna Lovegood
My kitchen has golden oak cabinets and St. Cecelia granite. It is not exactly my style but it is rather new, and too expensive to redo. Looking for a wall color that will help downplay the golden-ness of the cabinets, while not going too bold (an adjacent wall is a pretty bold color so kitchen needs to stay neutral). Should I pull a color from the granite?

Its a good idea, maybe even 2 colors and use the 2nd as a trim or accent color, as long as they don't make the yellow stand out more. Testing before you paint is a bit more time consuming but worth it if you have to risk repainting.

Look at Reclaimbeyondpaint.com The paint itself is expensive, but a little goes a long way. You can paint the cabinets without sanding or priming. I'm sure the wesite can help you determine how much you need to buy. I'm planning to do this with my kitchen cabinets which are also oak. There should be posts about this paint either on here or Pinterest. Good luck!

@Luna Lovegood it would be easier to give you advise if you posted a couple of pics. How neutral do you want to go. You could try for a neutral that has a hint of the colour of the accent wall or you could go with a complimentary colour to that wall. Perhaps a soft taupe would do the trick. Let us know what you do, and post some pics of the existing areas to gain more insight. Thanks for posting.

Pics would help. What colour is the bold you mention on the opposite wall?
