LG refrigerator door won't close

I have an LG refrigerator with the freezer on the bottom. The door on the refrigerator will close at the top, but the bottom of the refrigerator door does not close tight. In fact there is a 1/4 inch gap between the refrigerator frame and the door seal. We have to push it shut and hold it for a few seconds just to make sure the top will stay shut. Has anyone had this problem? I believe the warranty is probably expired by now.

Can you see the hinges on the door frame? It sounds like a hinge may have come loose or has warped somehow.

I am assuming you have checked to see if there is something stuck in the hinge?

I agree with MaryStLouis. Check hinges.Tighten any and all screws. Check for buildup of food or lint. Use an old toothbrush and clean hinges and screws thoroughly. In addition, clean all the rubber (including the deep crevasses), around the door and don't forget the bottom of door. If this does not work, you can google for more info. You can also ask a professional.

Check to make sure it is level in all 4 directions. I have found that that is the problem most of the time. Check not only front to back and side to side, but also corner to corner(both ways).
