A Year In Gardening

I always enjoy looking back on the year and figuring out which of my gardening posts went over well and which ones were sleepers. My poison ivy post was definitely number 1, which totally surprised me. I guess I'm not the only person who is terrorized by this stupid plant all summer long! I've posted that and my other Top Ten Gardening Posts For The Year on my blog. The photos below are a few examples!
I discussed how I chose my plants for the container on my back porch and showed you how they look at different stages of the summer.
Peonies in chemistry flasks are always fun
One of my most popular posts this year was on identifying and avoiding poison ivy.
And my porch decorating posts ALWAYS do well! People like porches, I guess.

@Pearl ruby I'm afraid peonies will bloom only once a year even in California. There are early- mid- and late-season bloomers, but it is pretty much all at the same time. In California you might try adding the native California peony,Paeonia californica, to your garden. It can be challenging to grow, but would add blooms from January through March.

To my knowledge Yes, at least the type u have do & then gone! My Fave flower!! There r several other types (I just learned about) & a few of them bloom a bit later than ur type & I did come cross 1 type that started blooming early summer thru end of summer as long as they were kept pruned. Ur type to me are the classics & prettiest tho :)
