I upcycled a 26" used tire into an Ottoman !!!!

This is my upcycled ottoman, i made it with an old 26" tire, plywood, glue, manila rope in a round design, in the center a Gentleman's Jack bottle cap, all of these items were recycled items ( except the manila rope) and added fence caps as legs for extra savings. htt://www.hooarte.blogspot.com

I love this idea, there are way too many tires in landfills! Does the "rubber" smell stay with it?

I gave the tire a good "bath" and let it to dry outside, we have had it inside for couple days only and it does not smell, don't really know how it will be during the summer.

I love the look of your "tired" ottoman!!! I would have never thought of anything like this. I would think you can use it for storage too!!! How long did it take you to do this?

Yay! Another tire ottoman! Looks great Hoover! So proud to see my idea is getting around--that's one more tire saved from the landfills! Regarding the rubber smell, when I made the original tire ottoman back in August, in the heat of summer in "Hotlanta," there was a slight smell that diminshed quickly, but it was from the manila rope, not the tire. So, you shouldn't have any smell issues come next summer. Enjoy!

Totally awesome... Im still trying to figure out where you put the plywood you talk about?

What did you use to keep the rope wrapped around? Some kind of caulking glue??

So it has wood on the bottom and you can use it for storage, right? Is it high enough to use, as a bar? other ideas.
