How do we organize a high cabinet?

This cabinet is two feet above the washer and dryer. There is plenty of room in it but you need a step stool to reach anything. Any suggestions on what to do with it? I tend to not use it for anything right now.

I have the same problem in my pantry! I would love to hear advice on how to use that space effectively!

I put my extra dish soap and sponges, zip lock bags, light bubs, paper towels in mine.

I put baskets labled for light bulbs, candles, battries, and vaccuum cleaner bags, extra belts and filters. But I still have to have a step to get to it.

I have the same in my laundry room. I put rarely used items in my high cabinets. I don't mind using the step stool since I don't have to do it very often. Also, one of these grabbers may help you http://www.amazon.com/s/?ie=UTF8&keywords=reacher%2Fgrabber&tag=googhydr-20&index=aps&hvadid=8045782404&hvpos=1t1&hvexid=&hvnetw=g&hvrand=15555021184572095176&hvpone=&hvptwo=&hvqmt=b&hvdev=c&ref=pd_sl_ixniznmhs_b

I also put rarely used items up high. I've been thinking of removing the doors from some ceiling mounted cabinets that I can't get to very easily. I may just convert the space into display space.

If you can't easily reach it, use it for seasonal items that you don't have to get to all the time. That way they won't be taking up more convenient spaces.

Thank you all for your suggestions. I definitely will use it for seasonal storage. I may even go so far as to label the boxes so that it makes sense. Besides, that will free up needed space in our coat closet for more winter scarves and gloves. Thank you, friends.

You can get "pull down" shelving now. When you open the door the shelves drop down for easy access.

I use the lower shelves for pet food and supplies; upper shelves for less commonly used items like back-ups of cleaning supplies. Also, I am planning on having a contractor extend them out further from the wall since I now have front-loaders on pedestals so some of them are even less accessible than they were previously, and, yes, I do use the grabbers to help me get things down, or one of my 6 foot tall sons or grandson!

Add a shelf just above washer level and purchase baskets for use of frequently used items to not waste that space. Use above for seasonal or rarely used items accessible by a step stool. On my shelf I labeled baskets for each child since we're empty nesters. When there's something I want to give-photos, coupons, receipts, things they've left, they simply check the box before on each visit. Cabinet could be removed from wall and lowered leaving a nice display space above. That way unattractive detergent containers, etc could be on the lowest shelf concealed behind the doors.

Most cabinets are secured to the walls at the studs so they can be stable and safe. My first thought is to look inside to see if you can find any of the hardware/screws, etc. that have your cabinets attached to the studs. If you determine where they are attached, just remove them and drop them down to a level you can easily manage, then use the space high above them for very seldom used items.

I use those shelves for dog towels, paper towels and light bulbs etc. I built a two step box with the base a little less than the dryer width and a hinged lid and a small hole in the side of bottom step and it hides the cat litter box . 1. I get to the high cupboards and 2. the dogs can not get the kitty potty.
