I've successfully done a paper bag floor, but it was over wood underlayment. Has anyone ever tried it over vinyl?

I have never heard of a paper bag floor.. how is that done?

Yes. I have done it over vinyl. I had a small wretched mobile home. I did the whole thing. Looked great. It is very durable

Hi, I did a paper bag floor over vinyl. It lasted for years. I finally got tired of it, and easily removed it with vinegar and water, just like you would remove wallpaper.

Hi I don't have an answer for vinyl, I actually have a concrete floor I want to do but someone mentioned that polyurethane shows scuff marks. Is that true? Does it keep its shine after cleaning?

Any painted or varnished walking surface will show foot traffic. Can not be prevented. That is why painting a deck is the most labor intensive maintenance of all finish coatings. The shinier the varnish (urethane) the more it shows foot traffic. I have always recommended to my clients matte or satin for the floors. They look terrific, & remember they are not the focal point of the room. The "stuff" is the focal point.
