Re-Purposing Cabinet Doors

Cabinet doors are so versatile and inexpensive. They make great signs, chalkboards or coat hangers.
This cabinet door became a winter sign for the kitchen. I used a chalky paint finish on all of these doors. I love using this paint because it doesn't smear when distressing like acrylic paints or paint pens. I also top coated each sign with Wipe on Poly.
A Christmas sign- I first saw this on Finding Home. I thought it was so cute and just had to give it a try. I forgot to photograph it in the Christmas vignette.
This Winter sign decorates the hearth of the fireplace in the home office. There are directions on my blog how to make this sign. I did use a Silhouette cutting machine to make the vinyl letters. Stenciled letters would also work. The snowflakes are plastic.
The skating sign is part of the Winter decor on our screened porch. I used stencils to add the lettering. The border of the cabinet became my "frame" when painted black.
When I had a booth, I re-purposed cabinet doors into chalkboards and towel/coat hangers. There are better links on my blog on how I made these.
