Our Fairfield Home and Garden has had a great year! Here are the 2014 top 10 projects, and I have lots more up my sleeve for 2015!
# 1 ~ Build a Catio
Our three kitties got their own little screened porch this summer! Connected to the laundry room, they have access through a window and can come and go as they please. They love it! (see the link for directions at the end of this post)
# 2 ~ Shutter Garden
When a neighbor gave me 32 shutters, I made a new garden! Come see what you can do with someone else's junk! (see link for directions at the end of this post)
# 3 ~ Build a Raised Garden Bed
You don't need a lot of carpentry skills to construct raised garden beds that are easier on the back and great for areas with poor soil, rocks, etc. (see the link for directions at the end of this post)
# 4 ~ Easy Sugar Cookies
This recipe is a family favorite! It makes up a ton and no cookie cutters or rolling pins are necessary! (see the link for directions at the end of this post)
# 5 ~ Kitschy Kitchen Garden Accents
Take a little trip to the Dollar Store for all you'll need to make some unique garden accents! (see the link for directions at the end of this post)
# 6 ~ Bowling Ball Garden Accent
An old bowling ball, Dollar Store glass "gems", glue and your'e in business to creat a fun garden accent! (see the link for directions at the end of this post)
# 7 ~ Vintage Button Wreath
A sweet ornament that can be made up very easily using leftovers from your sewing basket! (see the link for directions at the end of this post)
# 8 ~ Wood Scrap Scarecrow
A few wood scraps, a little hardware and Goodwill clothes are the essentials for this pretty garden lady to grace your flowerbeds! (see the link for directions at the end of this post)
# 9 ~ Spring Windowbox
Spring-blooming bulbs and plants, a basket and terra cotta pots make a colorful spring windowbox. After they finish blooming, plant everything in your flowerbeds to enjoy for years! (see the link for directions at the end of this post)
# 10 ~ DIY Birdbaths
This post was a gathering of birdbaths I have made for our garden. You can upcycle many materials to make inexpensive, wonderful birdbaths that will draw birds to your garden. (see the link for directions at the end of this post)

I hope you will take a look and try some of these easy, DIY projects yourself! Thanks for all the support this year and Happy New Year to everyone!

What a happy look back, Barb. I had forgotten how very handsome those raised beds you created were. Can't wait to see what you'll come up with in 2015.
