Plaster Painted China Hutch

A few weeks ago my hubby’s aunt called and wanted to know if I wanted this giant china hutch she had. A china hutch was the one piece of furniture that I hadn’t painted, so I took her up on her offer.
Now when my hubby went to pick the piece up, he was a little less enthused than I was. It is a beast! The pictures don’t quite capture just how large it is … nor how heavy it is!
So two trips, a lot of sweat, and a pulled muscle later … it was home.
This was by far the largest piece I had ever painted before.
Then came the question of what colors to paint it. Since I had the whole Fall theme going on, I decided on Plaster Paint’s Flannel, and on the inside I used a combo of Poppy and Sweat Dreams (also by Plaster Paint).
I then distressed the whole piece and repainted the hardware an antique gold.
What a difference some paint can make!
