What to use to better clean a self-cleaning oven

I have a self-cleaning oven. The problem is the process does not clean the oven very well, especially the bottom. I do not know what to use on the oven to clean it. Several store bought products say not to use them on self-cleaning ovens. Thank you!

I use ammonia and water or baking soda. Both work well but instead of writing it all out, here is a great article for both methods. I never self-clean my oven so started doing this a few years ago. Good luck! http://www.madefrompinterest.net/2013/04/oven-cleaning/

Phone the manufacturer. You have to be really careful with these ovens as cleaning with product can damage the finish and impair the self-cleaning process.

I have a self cleaning oven, I sprinkle baking soda and mist it with water, let sit for an hour or two, take a sponge it wipes right out. I do this to the oven 2 x years. I can't use the self cleaning because the chemical smell triggers an asthma attack like wise with ammonia.

Most self cleaning oven work by using a very high heat to burn up food splatters and drips. I've had several self cleaning ovens over the years and the manufactures have always recommended to wipe large spills up with a damp cloth or sponge as soon after the spill has cooled as possible; to wipe out the bottom of the oven with a damp cloth or sponge after the cleaning process to help remove any residue that may be left inside the oven. You may need to run the cleaning cycle more often or for a longer time. I do a lot of baking and roasting in the fall and winter months, so I clean my oven more often then; usually right before Thanksgiving and Christmas.

Use baking soda and water, mixed into a paste. Works like magic. I think on Pintrest, you'll find the "recipe"
