Need to replace quilted roller blinds

We have quilted roller blinds that are attached be the sides to the window frame. Has anyone ever done this and what did you use? Is it possible to do it yourself?

Can you post a picture of them? I'm not sure if they are the same as the ones that I have.

A photo or two would most definitely help. From your description, I have several different types of blinds coming to mind and not sure which you are talking about. If you yourself can't post a photo, maybe you can have a friend do it for you? Anxious to see what you've got going on, as I'm sure someone can help! Good luck!

Actually these blinds are at my sons home and I am not that savy of posting pictures, so I will try and describe it a little better. Quilted fabric on a roller. The material on the sides is behind a plastic strip that holds it tight to the window frame. They pull up by a cord that was manufactured by the warm company. When pulled up the material just rolls up. The material is starting to rot so they need to be replaced maybe. There is a cornice over the top to hide the blind when they are pulled up. Was wondering if anyone has ever done that yourself or is it better to find a company that will do it as a replacement. Thank you for trying to help me out.

I believe you are speaking of window quilts which are insulated and quite expensive. I have taken mine down and washed them in the bathtub, dried on the line and rehung. Don't use anything powdered because if it doesn't dissolve well it will cause light spots on the reflective lining which is concealed in the quilt. I have a historic home over 100 years old and there are some windows I just didn't want to replace due to the leaded glass in them so the quilts were my best option.http://www.windowquilt.com/products/full_broch.htm
