Roaring sound in bathroom sink

We have a continuous roaring or rushing wind sound in one of the two bathroom sinks. It is not associated with a toilet flush or running water in another room. It is a continuous sound, but you can't hear it all of the time. The house is a year and a half old and this sound just started. Any suggestions as to what is causing this sound?

It sounds like it's a vent tube on top of the roof.

Something may be obstructing the vent tube - we had a leaf stuck in the top of ours and it was causing the same sounds - we got a PVC cap that is "screened" and put on top of the vent pipe to keep stuff from getting in.

Run some water in the bathtub and let it drain. We had the same problem, we do not use the shower/tub in that bathroom and found out that the drain pipe dried out hence giving you that roaring sound when the sink was used.

This is in a bathroom that is used every day. When it warms up, we will check the vent stack on the roof for obstructions.

We have that same noise too, but ours is just because there is heavy construction going on outside our house and whenever the guys rev their trench-digging equipment, we get the jiggles and rattling in our pipes. Listen out to see if you are having some sort of construction project going on in your area, whether near or far, then it is likely what it is. If not, then......
