what to do with this wall ???? plz plz i need advice :)

i dont know if i should put anything on this wall. make a group on each side of the tv or nothing at all, so i put a couple of other pictures of my livingroom on here just so you guys could get an ideal of our rustic style thanks alot :)
what to do on this wall if anything please advice needed..when you walk in our livingroom this is the wall you are facing it just looks so empty compared to the rest of the room..thanks :)

I agree with Sheila, and like the idea of some earth tone colors on the walls. You could even go with a separate accent color for the wall opposite the fireplace.

I would choose a sage or mossy green color if you paint the wall. You have so much brown in the room with the stone, wood, and carpeting. But the green you have in that window valance would be a pretty accent color. Or, if you don't want to paint the wall, I would suggest an accent piece to go in the left corner. Like an old door painted in a punchy color with a wreath on it (or in your case, a lasso. lol). like this: http://pinterest.com/pin/43276846390350368/ It would add height, color, and draw your eye up while breaking the harsh line the wainscotting gives. Then hang a semi-large piece of art on the right side of your media center. It will balance out the taller pieces. Either way you need something tall in that left corner

Be sure and pick a green that does not have too much yellow or it will scream at you! Since you are in the Louisiana area, look for a few fishing items like bouys, even stretch a small net across perhaps to the left of the TV to which you could attach some fishing lures (remove hooks for safety)...old rustic items would look great with your rustic decor.

I like the door idea. If you don't find a door, I would add three LARGE pieces of art (framed photography, fabric over a frame, etc.) A single large piece on the left and two pieces hung vertically on the right. You want those pieces to be big enough that they take up about 2/3 of the vertical space. These three don't have to be matchy matchy but should coordinate or compliment each other. Good luck!

With the wall being so long and narrow, I think you need something tall in the corner and a narrow piece of art by the hallway to balance that. I know the art I used is contemporary, but this may give you an idea of how to balance the long narrow look of the blank wall.

There are some great small rugs that would make wonderful wall hangings for the TV wall - it would add more texture w/out adding more wood - great esp for fall/winter. Tuesday Morning usually has great rugs at reasonable prices. Doesn't have to be a bold design - just add texture and warmth, esp since you can't paint the wall.

It's a free download through Google, called "Google Sketch-Up". It has a built-in tutorial and takes a little time to learn, but I use this all the time in my building business to show customers what something may look like. It really is helpful to have visualization of an idea. Once you get used to navigating in it, there are tons of 3-D "warehouse" items, such as the plant and vases to import into your pictures/drawings.

This is an example of the capabilities of the google sketch-up program, and I'm not even very good at the program, compared to others I've seen. It's not very difficult, once you get used to navigating in it. This was my living room design concept, before we finished. We didn't end up with this exact design, but it's scale-able, so you can see what will fit, etc.

I like all the different ideas! Another one to add, you know the ladders or shutters that you hang on the wall, have different slats, would be an idea to hang one horizontal one vertical, could hang different things such as old cow skulls like you have, rope, spurs, or different things that go with your style. :) Great area to work with !

@Leslie D thanks for sharing the google site with us, that is great, I have been looking for something like this for sure....cannot wait to get into it......I just love HT and all we share and so many interesting people from all over...... @Trent-Tonya Sharp here r a couple ideas I thought of for u..... 1. .how about making two windows on each side of the TV with shutters, fake window with a woods scene and mayb deer behind it, u know what I mean......get a mural and put behind a window, I would make the window with the slots in it and the scene and shutters on each side. Have two scenes that are different like u r looking outside, think this would fit right in with your decor or any mural ........even just a fall scene or whatever but I think the shutters on each side would set it off 2. How about just building a nice wood wall, using pallets and then stain or paint it.....I like to give ideas, just cannot get moving to do anything for me....haha Here is a sample window, and it just happens to b on a pallet wall, etc. love it

P A I N T. My suggestion is to paint the top half, maybe a nice faux finish to enhance the rustic theme. Paint it orange then apply mocha glaze, roll it on, pat it off with cheesecloth. It will dry and look like leather. Then group several wall hangings in groups of 3's, such as mirrors, small baskets, old tools, etc. Your options are endless. Or, you could hang an old single wooden ladder horizontally and then hand quaint items within each slat.
