Paint color to compliment honey oak kit. Cabs

Have refaced cabinets that look ok but walls need paint. Dining rm is yellow wash ceiling is bold red. Doorway separates them. What do followers think of a cool gray?

Can you recommend some cool gray colors to go with oak cabinetry. I have all oak cabinets in my kitchen and oak floor. Not much natural light and very small kitchen.
