Hi, would you be able to upload a picture of your couch so that we can best advise you?

I think a pale blue-gray would work. Depending on the actual tones you're working with, you may be able to use a soft sea green to highlight both the yellow and gray you already have.

Hi Eileen! This really depends on what else is in the room and what hue of gray the couch is. Some grays have a blue tint and some have a green, some more purple. The two photos attached illustrate that point. So you need to figure out what kind of gray is in your sofa before you choose a color that will complement it.

I used a much lighter gray than the couch and it turned out lovely! Accented with pillows, etc.

I agree with Meredith Selman above. I saw these colors with lime green/apple green walls with a touch of black décor on the walls on BHG, and it was fantastic! Of course, it depends on what other colors you have in your home. Rust would be great, too! I wouldn't go with any grays or white if you want a pop of color and lots of oooh's and aaah's! It is sooo striking with the bright green, which is very much "in" right now!

By the way, I was born and raised in Pawtucket. I'm now 73, and live in PA. Great to see a post from an ole' hometown gal! P.S. I'm looking at an ad on this same page, from Wayfair. It has a dark gray sofa pictured with yellow pillows. The walls look white. I guess it all depends on whether you like lots of color or not, and what color your woodwork is, too.

I can't help but wonder how light/dark your couch is and what is the style? Further, what color is your floor? Possibly a soft white wall for a contemporary look? Do you have a cushion you can remove? Take it to the paint store and compare colors. Beats guessing every time.
