Practical Ways to Add Color to Your Home Decor

I knew I wanted to introduce pink into my living room, especially since the space looked bare after the holidays. My first thought was, "that will cost money." But, then I quickly realized that I could save money by shopping right in my own home. Which is exactly what I did.
I gathered books that had pink, coral or orange on them and placed them in the tray on the ottoman. Even that small change made a big difference.
The pink depression glass bowl that belonged to my grandmother was placed on the little blue dresser. ( I love pink and blue together..that's what inspired this mini-makeover. )
I couldn't resist clipping these rose blooms from my yard and putting them in a vase.
The newly added accessories brings out the coral matting in the artwork.
I also painted a small stool in Sherwin-Williams new color of the year, Coral Reef.

Tip: Save money by buying a quart of paint and painting something small. You get the benefit of having on trend colors in your home without the on trend prices.
I love how the stool looks against the blue backdrop of the wall and next to the orange glow of the fireplace.
