Thrifted Basket Turns From Blah to Ooh La La Serving Tray!

I picked up this serving basket from a thrift store for only a few dollars. I challenged myself to give it a makeover using only supplies I already had on hand.
Above is the original I picked up from a thrift store for two or three dollars.
Paint I found in my garage. It worked AWESOME!
I covered a piece of cardboard cut from a box to fit the bottom of the basket with burlap fabric........
and then stenciled a design on top.
Voila! Here is the final result displayed on my dining room buffet. What do you think?
