Replacing sliding closet doors

The closet in the master bedroom has those gosh awful sliding closet doors. You can only get in one side of the closet at a time. What can I replace them with? They are ugly and noisy and they have got to go.

One likely problem will be the width of the opening. Many are less than 48 inches and thus will not fit two 24 inch doors without cutting.

Cheap and quick fix is a curtain rail and a pretty curtain. I hate when they have the sliding mirror doors. I know they make the room look bigger but really do you need to see yourself in the mirror when you are lying in bed or just getting up looking all dishevelled!! They always eventually jump off the rail too and are heavy and awkward to wrangle them back on their tracks.

do you have room for bi-fold doors? You can open them up at the same time to expose the inside of your closet.

Pocket door - space saver, opens full width when you want it to.

I'm replacing mine with an Ikea hack. I'm using ceiling hung Kvartal tracks and panels that Glade to one side and stack along the wall. The entire closet becomes accessible plus I gain a lot of additional closet space by using the recessed alcove that before was wasted space.
