DIY: Pickle Jar Turned Vintage French Coffee or Food Storage Container

Easy
I'm currently replacing various food storage containers in my kitchen with upcycled pickle jars. They come in nice large sizes that beg to be repurposed. Check out how easily they go from ordinary to simply extraordinary.
Remove labels, clean and deodorize thoroughly. To see additional details on cleaning and removing lingering food odors from previous product check out my blog post.
Add several coats of paint to the outside of the cap.
Snag, print and adhere a snazzy label , most applicable to the product you are storing. This one was a printable freebie found on the Graphics Fairy website.
Tie a piece of thin jute rope to the top and voila!! You have a snazzy new storage jar after spending little to no money.

This one was created to store the magical, life giving substance that some simply call coffee. It looks much better sitting on my counter than the standard bag or canister that comes from the store.

Hope you enjoyed this post. For more detailed instructions, be sure to check out my blog post and happy crafting! :)

I am going to try this because I hate wasting jars too! I will make bath salts and look for free peintable digital labels. Next, I'll try growing a plant and finding free labels for that as well. Wish there was something ornamental I could make with left over jars for my garden centerpiece and Christmas tree ornaments!
