I want to redo my fireplace tiles into something a little more vintage looking. Any ideas or suggestions for painting and sanding it for a vintage look?

When I bought my house it had a grey tile around it, I bought a glass spray paint at a local craft store. I taped paper around the fireplace to protect the wood work, walls and floor and went to town. I painted it white since the natural woodwork was solid cherry and needed a nice contrast to pop. I live in a house built in the mid 1800's.

Hi Shari. do you have any pictures you acn post of your existing fireplace? sometimes just looking at somehing brings ideas. If you want to do the tiles on a budget, you can paint them vintage colors, or use a hand made or store bought vintage looking stencil to decorate them. If you can do expensive, then go to local antique or restoration stores to find real vintage tiles and tile over your existing ones. Good luck and please show us what you've done.
