Lakeview Elementary School project
Backyard Getaway was honored to be chosen to be a part of the Building Bridges with School & Community grant project through Met Life & the John F Kennedy Performing Arts Center. Through this project created by Van Wezel performing arts & Brenda Smoak a local teaching artists, we created a hands on class at both Lakeview Elementary School & their sister school, Oak Park special needs school. The children created a water feature at each school, a meditation garden at Oak Park & next week will work together again to add artistic touches to a bridge that connects the two schools.
