Has anyone used Thomas Stainless Steel Paint on appliances?

I see lots of ads for Thomas or Rustoleum paint for appliances but no testimonials for this product that aren't commercial ones. Has anyone done it? Would you recommend it?

works good but strictly follow instructions...and do a sample testing
  • There are a lot of special finishes for appliances available to most homeowners. This is a bit of a task but can be accomplished pretty easy if you take the time and use the proper equipment suggested by the manufacture of the paint you decide to use. The trick is proper prep. As with any painting project you need to carefully clean the surfaces being painted. And do not handle the sanded areas with your bare hands once its clean. The oils alone in your hands can cause an early failure of the finish. Ideally a air compressor with spray gun or an HVLP spray system should be used to apply the finish. This takes some practice to do without it running. If you have a friend that paints autos or has done so in the past, bake them a cake and get them to help you. If not I suggest that you practice paining using a spray gun on some wood or cardboard to assure your not applying it to heavy or to light. To heavy it will run, to light it will be rough to the touch. Allow the finish to properly dry. Do not rush handling it.

We changed a gold refrigerator to an almond one years ago with Rustoleum paint. The finish outlasted the refrigerator. I also used the white appliance paint on my dad's rusty refrigerator and it looked like new.
