There is a company called "Mr. Sandless" that refinishes wood floors without sanding them.

Sanding will remove the “deep grooves” of damage. If there is not substantial damage like this, the no-sand options may work (we've never actually tried). I've also seen a warning that the no-sand products may accentuate the deep grooves of damage. Another option is to screen and coat it,which is lightly sanding the surface and applying a coat of finish.

Liquid sanding floor repairs is fine if the only thing your dealing with is a floor with some surface scratches. However do not be fooled into thinking the sandless finishing systems will solve any more than that. Bona products do sell great finishing chemicals that might solve the issue your trying to achieve. http://www.bona.com/en-US/
