Shabby Chic Vintage Table

I thought this might be a small chair at first, and perhaps it was originally, but it isn't sturdy enough for seating even after repairs, so I think it will be used as a bedside table instead. I would love to hear from anyone that might know more about what it actually is/was.
I found it at a thrift store. The top was cracked through and the veneer was broken off in one area. After quick repairs it was ready for transformation.

Wood glue was applied and it was clamped in place overnight.

Since I planned to refinish it in the shabby chic style I opted to smooth out the broken veneer by sanding it.
I applied a base coat of pink. The pink doesn't really show up too well in the photo, but it is Antoinette Pink by Annie Sloan Chalk Paint. Some of the pink peeks through in the finished piece, but it is very subtle. Again the camera didn't pick that up too well.
Next I applied Old White. The piece was sanded for a smooth finish and then sanded more heavily for a worn look.
After applying a soft wax I antiqued it with a combination of dark wax and glaze.
The table top is as smooth as glass. The edges are actually smooth as well although the look rough in the photo.
The final photo shows the previously broken veneer that was smoothed out for a worn look. It was a fun and quick project. My cost estimate includes the purchase price of the table and supplies. I used products I had on hand but estimated the amount used into the overall cost. Time excludes drying time.
