Needing nursery transformation ideas

I am very new to hometalk, so I apologize is my post is so vague! I am expecting our second child and running low on space! We currently rent a three bedroom home - military, so not buying until our next move. Of course, Hubby and I take one bedroom, my stepson takes another, and our daughter takes the third bedroom. So, with another on the way, I'm thinking of transforming our mudroom into a nursery. I've attached two pictures of the mudroom, so you can see that it is small, but should be sufficient for a temporary nursery. We have a crib already, but there is no closet space, so I need to think of something. And of course I need a changing table. I can always go purchase one, but I really want to transform a piece. Anyway, I am going to blame this on pregnancy brain, but I have no idea where to start. The one window where the bench is goes into our daughter's room, not the outside. But the other windows behind the shelves, do go out onto our back porch, along with a door that is not pictured. This mudroom is a walk-through basically, with one door opening in the kitchen and the other to the master bedroom. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!!!!!

hi @alison ! congrats on the new baby! My first step would be to clear the room, 100% clear. I would be ruthless in finding new place for each and every item, and find new homes for ones that just won't go into other rooms. This will clear your head and babies have so much paraphernalia that you need every inch anyway. Donna

I agree with Donna about clearing the room, also you can have a dresser/baby changing table to cut down on the furniture in the room. Check my re-purpose/fix up board I have one in there that i saw and liked.

If you can paint then paint if not work around it. As far as no closet...no problem. If you can find and tall entertainment center at a thrift store, usually cheap, paint it add rod for hanging and either shelves or baskets for all the rest. can't wait to see it when finished....please post pictures. would place it in front of inside window.
