What color should I paint this?

I have this vintage 2 piece Formica hutch. I guess it is from the 60’s or 70’s. I have the glass for the front doors. I have already primed the top part and painted the inside of the shelves. I used a sort of light turquoise blue because I had that on hand.
I want to paint the legs and handles metallic

Hi Lisa, this piece has the potential to be stunning...and I LOVE those door handles! Do you plan to leave it switched up the way it's standing in the photo, or did you just have the bottom shelving perched on top for painting? Brass legs, or are they wood? Formica will need a paint that's suitable for plastics, like Krylon paint, or it will peel off. And since you've already painted the inside a light turquoise blue, why not paint the outside surfaces a darker teal.....I think it would be fabulous! If the legs are brass, shine them up along with the door handles, or you could paint them black to look like wrought iron pieces. This would also give a spot of tie-in color with your black and white flooring. Be bold, be daring....it's only paint!! Make sure to take a picture to let us see how it turned out!!

Bonnie hi And thanks for your input I plan on using the same handles they are great looking . the piece is standing how it should be. The legs are metal and I plan on painting them metallic silver. I have already sanded the top piece and put primer on it and was hoping to use semigloss latex paint. I may have to look Into a different paint. I do like your idea of a darker blue, my favorite color is any shade of. Blue. Even though the piece is from the seventies it has a deco feel. I will keep posting the progress. Thanks again for your help😀

I had a set very similar to these and decided to make 2 separate pieces from them. I added legs to the piece with the doors and made it into a media center. Kept the other as a curio cabinet. Painted them 2 different colors.

Hey, I think any shade of blue, cause it is my favorite, peaceful color...... but I can not answer, without knowing what it will be around and your dream of the finished room. Now if you painting it to sell.... I am not the person to ask. lol Some folks think wild, bright shades inspire them..... I personally like calming, soft, blues.... but let me know what you decide on?
