Can anyone tell me where to store those heavy Kitchenaid mixers?

I have a very small kitchen with limited cabinets. I currently store the Kitchenaide mixer on top of my dryer most of the year and carry it out when I use it. Thank you

I store mind under the sink, it is the only cabinet I have that is tall enough and strong enough.

This may not be a good solution for you because of your limited cabinet space, but if you have an 18" wide base cabinet it will save a lot of wear and tear on your back. http://www.rev-a-shelf.com/c-54-mixer-appliance-lift.aspx

@Suzanne Lawson I do have the space because it would replace where I'm taking out a trash compactor and my cabinet man has already given me an estimate. But I have decided that I'm like you in that I don't bake enough to justify putting in that fancy of a shelf. I think I'm going to just have a single drawer and cabinet put in the space which will match the rest of the base cabinets. The trash compactor would cost more to repair than to buy another one, and this one is only 3 years old, so I don't want to throw my money away on another compactor. And now that I've thought about it more, I don't want a "rev-a-shelf" that will have the potential of breaking!! Thanks for all the info!

I store mine in a cabinet in another room. Sparse counter space and sparser cupboards in my kitchen. One suggestion I got was to take out one of the drawer cabinets and put in a sliding shelf and store there. Good idea, but where to put silverware and such. Don't think I am much help.

I store mine on top of my upright freezer--of course I use my "dining" room in an unconventional manner--as an addition to my kitchen. I have my freezer in there and an old hutch. So it is convenient to the kitchen, not pretty but practical.
  • I store mine (I have two but I am a big foodie) on a shelving unit that I have in my dining room. I like to display them.

I store mine in cabinet under the kitchen peninsula. Easy access, top shelf.

@Cheryl John I see that you live in SC so not likely to have a basement. I have shelving units in mine where I store the items I use only a couple of time per year. Do you have a garage where you could put a utility shelf to store things on? This might be a consideration for you. Or perhaps a small shed at the side of the house with shelving may be a solution for you as well.

I love my red one on the counter, above the baking center- on display.

I've been wanting a Kitchenaid Mixer so bad but I have been putting it off because of the same problem. You see on my counter I already have a Kitchenaid Food Processor and a crockpot. Matter of fact I keep my bread maker under the cupboard and toaster-oven in a bench we use to sit on to put our boots. I guess I will have to keep on using the hand mixer. "Maybe just maybe I could find room in that bench for the crockpot hummm.."

My KitchenAid is on my cabinet and I keep smaller appliances such as the Ninja, toaster oven and hot dog grill on wire shelves on the other side of the kitchen. My upper cabinets are low, so I actually had to cut a space on the end by the sink so I could slide it under the upper cabinets & down the counter. Of course my KitchenAid is the one with the bowl that raises & lowers.

I bought a small tea cart @ Sam's the mixer and It can be stored on the shelf or leave it on top of the cutting board. My cart matches the wire shelves I use for pots etc. The wheels make it easy to move out of the way when not in use. I too have a mini kitchen.

As our kitchen has adjustable shelves, I made sure one shelf in the pantry was at the perfect working eight. There is a plug in on the wall, so I don't have to move the mixer to use it.
