I have oak cabinets in my kitchen, what color floor/hardwood?

It is a big open room, dining, foyer and living room. I also want to add shutters throughout, but don't know how to do the color. I wish it were white, but cannot bring myself to paint them. They were hand-made by my nephew...and beautiful. I can send pictures later.

take pic of cabinets be sure one is very close to a base door aswell as base cabinet. take to where you want to purchase floor...have flooring specialist assist..call and make appointment helps; cause person is all yours for help. ask to take a sample home to see the idea. lay on floor an move it around a day or so then lay on counter an move around.try toget a couple of each or purchase one box and do the above to see if youcouldlive with it. take pics of move arounds to study and get others opinions cause once its down its down this is timely perhaps but well worth it grannykatz
