Building a small bathroom

Have a 25'x14' room upstairs in our barn want to put a bathroom up there, need ideas to fit it in to a 1 room apt. for my grandson. Thinking of a trailer size bath. Shower, toilet sm. sink any way to put this in this space without taking up a lot of room?

I would not skimp too much on the bathroom when you have that much room. That's a big space and with the cost of putting in the plumbing pretty much set whether you have a three piece (shower only) or a four piece (shower and bath) you can go with regular sized figures. After your grandson, you'll have a great place for guests or a rental.

I would estimate between $1500 and $2k for the plumber depending on how far he or she has to take the lines to the nearest sources for water and drain.

You can put a small sink and toilet in a small space and it not seem too small (I know Ikea has some small sinks) but I agree don't skimp on the shower. It would be better to make the bath area a bit bigger and the rest of the living area smaller.

I would use a shower kit, a toilet and sink/vanity combo.

I would suggest you tape off the area that you are considering for each component. For the shower area maybe take some cardboard and "box" in where you plan on putting it. (I am a very visual person. Someone can tell me dimensions all day long but until I see it I don't see it!) Another idea- it might sound silly but put a tape measure in your purse and whenever you are out and about go into the restrooms, public and your friends. Then sit down and see if it is a comfortable space. If so, measure it. I know that there are numbers out there but sometimes they just don't feel right or you may not have enough space for those.
