We are completely lost as to what to do with our giant wall in our family room where the T.V. is mounted. It is completely blank right now (new house) and has 19 foot ceilings! We don't want too many shelves, too much to dust, but something of a focal point. Attached is a drawing of it. I couldn't get a good picture. wall is too tall! Any advice is greatly appreciated!!

I made mine a family wall. I hand painted a very large canvas that ended up being my focal point. When people come by all I hear about afterwards is my family wall.

YOU can paint THE wall About 63 inch high( until above Your TV!) in a Nice color, wich suits Your furniture. Above THE painted wall YOU finish with an nice (white) wood Lath. Above This fake paneling YOU can hang various listigs with family photos in p.a. Black and white. I am nog so good in THE English language I am Dutch and try to explain all of iT.

Try black iron pieces.....I found a black iron gate and hung it on my main wall, it took the attention away from the television as the center piece. I have now three pieces of black iron that I have found at second hand stores. I have received complaints on them and dusting is not a problem.

Here's a suggestion. I would love a giant bare wall. Mine are not so bare any more.

I had a huge empty wall in a stairway. I love wreaths and have quite a collection, so I hung them at different height on the wall. I also have a friend that is very talented and painted a silhouette of a tree in dark brown an a wall somewhat like yours and has hung family photos off of different branches. It is now her "family tree." I am actually thinking of doing the same thing in may stairway (if I can talk the hubby into painting the high part).

I had a huge wall like yours, and since I am a fan of vintage posters, I got a lot of inexpensive 24x36 movie poster reproductions and hung them gallery-style. I got the posters frames on half-price weeks at Hobby Lobby, and Michael's has their poster frames on sale often as well. Some of those old movie posters from the 30's and 40's are really cool!

Kathy Forsythe, I saw this on pinterest and love the idea. Since it's in a family room why not display large black and white family pictures... or have a large tree painted on that wall with photos attached at different heights. Giant Photo Booth Pictures- go online to Staples, upload photos and order the 18x24 engineering print for $1.97 each!

Hi, why not look for an old table top, round and get a clock kit at the hardware store, drill a hole in the center, cut some "clock hands" out of balsome (i think that's what you call it ) wood. It's real thin and lightweight and easy to cut. Paint the table in a whitewash and paint the hands black. It would take up alot of space, you wouldn't have to worry so much about dusting and wow, what a focal point it would be. Hope this gives you some inspiration. Good luck and be sure to post pics with what you decide. ( =
