These night stands are what is best known as the Italian style..they are particle board, that is made to look like white marble. Some of the covering is coming off. I would like to know what to put on to be able to match my bedroom set, which is in a cherry wood. I thought about an onion skin veneer. I have never done it before and need to know if this is something a do it yourselfer could tackle, without wrecking the nightstands.

  • Hi Dawn, I don't have experience in veneers, but another option is to use decoupage on the surface. You could use fabric or paper, they hide a multitude of "sins." :)

If u have a wood u prefer u can have it cut n nail it on top of what is there w trim to hide the width. U can paint the rest of the price n stain the top n trim to your cherry wood. It can b intimidating but use a little stain at a time. U can always apply more til it reaches the desired color. Best of luck.
