Cedar chest redo

I'm looking for a way to re-do a cedar chest that has seen its day and needs a face lift. So many great idea on this site, hopefully someone can see a vision that I'm not seeing.

    Would you like to refinish it back to it's original color, or try white washing or painting it?

    I painted mine white to go with my livingroom and distressed, I then added feet and use it as my coffee table

    I have painted old furniture and it has come out wonderful, preparation is the key. Do all your prep work ( sanding, cleaning ) and you should have no problem whatever you decide to do with it.

    I added rolling casters to mine & the top was a bit warped so added a foam cushion & fabric to make it a rolling bench with storage. It's was also a mess on the outside so painted it & did a nailhead design of harlequin diamonds.
