    Beverly-usually drawers have a metal stop on the front rung that keeps them from going in too far. They usually look like a little pyramid and can be sticking up or lay flat on the front rung, depends on the drawer. Take out the drawers and see if you see anything like this. If you see that some are missing then you can usually purchase these at a hardware store or online. you just hammer them in. If you don't mind take some pictures and post them and then I can have a better idea of what is going on. Take one with the drawers in and then a close up of them out and then turn a drawer over and take one of the bottom so I can see how they are made.

    Thanks for the info! I have a cabinet whose drawers need new runners. I kind of knew how to fix them, but the way you describe it sounds like it's much less work than I had imagined! Sometimes just seeing something done gives me courage to do it myself!
