Installing foam crown moulding, its so EASY.......Job Complete Pictures Added

I am installing styrofoam crown moulding for the second time. This time in my kitchen. If you love the look of crown moulding but don't have the skill or $$ for wood this is a great alternative. It looks just like high end crown moulding after you paint it. It is so easy because the back is flat for easy cutting and positioning. I took some before pictures and some during thee installation and will take after pictures when I'm done. I did our bedroom in 1 day! The kitchen is taking a couple days since I have so many other thing going on right now. I buy them from www.creativecrown.com
P.S. I don't work for them nor did they ask me to endorse them.

I've never thought of this. Very clever, and seems way simpler than real crown molding, which practically requires an advanced degree in geometry.

I'll probably be putting up a picture tonight. I will still have to paint it but you'll get the idea how it looks befor painting. It comes to you as a light blue styrofoam and it needs primed.. I used white spray primer, You can also have them pre cut the inside and outside corners. I didn't do that the last time and the corners were very easy to cut. I did order them this time just for the convience, I forgot one corner so I will have to cut that one.

Ok here are a few pictures. You must take in condideration that I'm not finished yet. The styrofoam comes to you blue, I don't know why. I did a light spray prime on it and will be painting it white when I'm done.

I seriously don't remember how I stumbled upon it on-line but I'm glad I did. It is WONDERFUL. You don't need any extra hands to help you and they can even precut your inside and outside corners at any degree you need. They are so helpful on the phone too.

I can put a picture of the completed bedroom crown moulding tomorrow. Almost done with the kitchen but getting a little sidetracked with Thanksgiving coming. Nice day in Pittsburgh, put outside decorations up. Son arriving home from college at 6am and 16 yr old daughter has "first job" orientation from 9am-1pm. Early bedtime for me.

@Mary I. This is so cool! We have an old Mobile home, dbl wide and that would dress it up so nicely! I never knew about this, thanks for posting! Sending myself an email with this info!!!

Bernice H. yes this would be good since there is no nailing, just adhesive to hold them up.

Creative Crown moldings have changed! They are now made of a high density molded white, smooth foam molding. They install with painters caulk and require 1 coat of paint. You can cut them in most positions in most miter saws with the flat back. The easiest molding you will ever install. www.creativecrown.com

@Thomas thanks for letting me know. The crown mouldings were easy to install before and now no priming and just 1 coat of paint will make it easier!

Sorry I don't remember the price I paid for either one of the rooms I installed it in. It was under $100 a room though. It will all depend on what profile size (height) you are interested in. You can go to their website www.creativecrown.com and check out prices and styles. **I am not affiliated with Creative Crown Molding
