I think it's just what people call or refer to it, just a term. I don't think there are clear lines anymore. Personally, when I see pics of a room or house that I love I sort of analyze it as to what exactly it is that I'm loving. Wall color, amount of sunlight coming in, cabinet color, etc. I do love the industrial farmhouse style, but I don't like chippy paint stuff lol. I've decided to stick with the mode of if I really love a piece and it's reasonably functional for us (and it's not exorbitantly priced) then I'll use it. It would be real hard to copy something exactly and I'm a big one for trying to make something as we've seen from all the repurposing around.
  • Industrial involves a lot of metals, pipes, straight lines and little color. Farm house is just what is says. Farm House, reproduction of old sinks, stoves, colors, checks, etc. It has the look of old but the workability of new. Or if you are lucky you find the original and refurbish it. Its like walking into Grandma's house. At least it would be for me since I am 67. Hope I answered your question.

I don't know about industrial but my mother in law would have LOVED this purple kitchen! She had purple cabinets in her kitchen and it was her favourite colour. She must have been way before her time! LOL!
