Get rid of light burn on white table

Debbie

I have a faint, small burn mark on a new white table from Pottery Barn. It is faint but sticks out like a sore thumb. Any ideas on removing? I don't want to sand!

Hi Debbie, could you upload a photo of the burn mark, this way we can best advise you.

Yes.... All you need do is take your blow dryer and hold it about 2" over the mark , blowing it away. What makes the mark is moisture which has gotten under the veneer or varnish. The heat will dry it out and the mark will disappear like magic! I had a large mark on my dining room table for about 8 years, which I covered with a mirrored runner. I tried every imaginable method to remove it, and nothing worked until I tried this! You won't believe how easy it is to remove it this way!

Try a little baking soda paste on a q-tip on the edge of the burn first and do it gently to see if that helps. I use baking soda paste for a lot of things. Maybe a white tooth paste on a q-tip might work. Just try it gently on the edge of the burn first. See the remark above @3 results are available, use up and down arrow keys to navigate.Patricia Morse about the hair dryer. I hope one of these works.

I'm sorry, but I thought you meant a heat mark. If it is really small, are you not able to touch it up with a tiny bit of white paint? You would have to get the correct color white, but if you buy a 2 oz craft paint, you could mix it with a tad of plaster of Paris to make a chalk paint. Touch it up with a kids style paint brush .... just barely painting it.

Is the table wood, painted, washed white or a gloss like a Formica or other?

Thanks everyone! White toothpaste and gentle scrubbing did the trick!
