Aim High Dresser

Wildflowers & Pistols
by Wildflowers & Pistols
When I saw this dresser I knew I wanted to do something a little different and fun. The top is just a laminate.. so, this dresser wasn't anything fancy. But, I had plans to make it into something special!
First I painted the entire thing using Wildflowers & Pistols Milk paint using the color Zora May- which is a really cool gray-brown color. Much like driftwood or old barn wood. I also mixed in the Extra bond so the milk paint wouldn't chip or 'self-distress'. You can purchase the milk paint here ----> www.wildflowersandpistols.com
Once the paint was dry I grabbed my chalk and started drawing the design I wanted. I always use chalk to free hand my designs because if I mess up or don't like it, I can just wipe it off like it never even happened! ;)
Once I had the design the way I wanted it I began painting. For the arrows I used Wildflowers & Pistols milk paint using the Louisa color. After the paint had dried I sanded everything smooth using a fine grit sand paper. Then, I wiped all the dust (and left over chalk) off. I sealed everything using Shellac.
I thought the original hardware was dated and it didn't really fit the new design. So, I switched them out for these awesome arrow drawer pulls that I found at Hobby Lobby.
After I had the arrows finished I decided it needed just a little something more so I added the words 'Aim High'. I think it's perfect!
I'm really loving the neutral color!
Aren't the arrows fun!? They add so much character to this dresser!
This was such a fun dresser to do! I love how it turned out!! :) I hope this has inspired you to start your own project! Aim high!

Really cute but the hardware is sharp. Is it suitable for a child's room? Shucks, just asking mam, ha

@Joann Jarvis The hardware isn't actually sharp. I suppose it'd be like any other metal hardware in a room. As a mother, I wouldn't be too concerned about it :)

Thanks for the info. I'm always child proofing things.
