We are finishing our basement with industrial look and I have two light bulbs hanging from the ceiling with a pull chain, any ideas on how to cover the bulb?

I wouldn't. :) Bare bulbs go perfectly with the industrial look! Like this: http://www.campprovisions.com/product/simple-light

A big drum shade will diffuse the light a little bit but still look streamlined, if you have the head room..

I like the chicken wire or mason jar shades too. Protects the bulb but still looks industrial and cool.

Light covers made for barns might be what you are looking for. A steal cage encloses the bulb to prevent, for instance a rearing horse, breaking the bulb.

they are making shades out of everything now.. wire waste baskets, bird cages, chicken wire garden baskets,, any thing goes.. I'd use something wire or metal to keep with the industrial theme, leave it natural, spray paint it matte nickel, bronze or black.. I saw in a vintage store.... rusty roofing tin ( think patio fiberglass stuff) with a hole for the cord. they slid the metal down above the socket, added a rubber with a new vintage looking bulb... .
